The winners of the
Entries for the

Judges for the Recruitment Company of the Year categories were: Don Byrne, Contractor & Supplier Manager at a leading banking group, Philip McMullan, Editor of Recruitment Consultant, and Derek McAllan, Partner at KPMG.
Judges for Innovator and Recruitment Sector Provider of the Year awards were: Brian Bath, a procurement and outsourcing specialist and Geoff Pinch, an IT and management consultant.
Ann Swain, APSCo Chief Executive, says: “This year’s awards have been the most hotly contested yet with a record number of entries in all categories. The standard of the entries get higher every year and all entrants have the right to be proud of their achievements in what has been a hugely challenging year for the recruitment sector.”
The winners were:
Recruitment Company of the Year £100 million plus
Winner: Volt

This company continues to demonstrate its quality of performance and commitment to go that one step further than most of its competitors. Its ability and determination not to rest on its laurels, but to continue to seek and implement new, improved and more rigorous controls and processes, is highly commendable.
The finalists: Volt Europe, NES Group, Networkers International and Capita Resourcing
Recruitment Company of the Year £21 - £100 million
Winner: CBSbutler

This company continues to invest heavily in its staff and processes and not for the first time, impressed judges with its unerring commitment to providing a high quality service to its customers, as well as demonstrating sound business management practices.
The finalists: CBSbutler, Penta Consulting and Martin Ward Andersen
Recruitment Company of the Year Under £20 million
Winner: Hobson Prior

A company who pursued a strategy and business plan which impressed the judges by staying focused and delivering a high quality service to its niche customers, allowing them to maintain and achieve their pricing policy even in these uniquely difficult times.
The finalists: Hobson Prior, Eurostaff Group and Poolia
Recruitment Sector Service Provider of the Year
Winner: Lander Associates

The winning company’s dedication to the quest of improving standards of recruitment practice and going more than the extra mile to serve the needs of its customers is a shining example to us all.
The Finalists: Lander Associates, Parasol, CWJobs.co.uk and Broadbean Technology
Special Commendation
Parasol
The judges had a hard time choosing the winner for the Recruitment Sector Service Provider of the Year. Although Lander Associates were the eventual winner, the judges wanted to highly commend Parasol.
Innovator of the Year
Winner: OrangeGenie

In the increasingly regulated business environment, this year’s winner provided the recruitment sector, its candidates and customers with a simple, yet thorough and highly practical solution to a critically important issue.
