This year’s event had a ‘Venetian masked ball theme’ which saw the guests don elaborate Venetian masks before being greeted by singing gondoliers (complete with gondolas). The champagne diamond draw (sponsored by Broadbean) was won by the holder of ticket number 34 – Paul Shrimpton of Parasol. The wonderful diamond necklace was collected by Ravneet Bermi from Parasol’s sales team. Paul was absolutely delighted with his win.
The lots making up the silent auction included an original lithograph by Pablo Picasso, an Italian cookery course and match day tickets to see Arsenal and Manchester United.
In total, over £60,000 was raised for ChildLine.
Ann Swain, CEO comments: “This was our tenth charity ball, and despite the economic pressures recruiters faced this year, raised a significant sum of money for ChildLine. It was great to see everyone digging deep. The recession may have dented profit margins but not recruiters’ generosity!”
This was APSCo’s tenth charity ball, and it was also Ann Swain’s 10th anniversary as CEO of APSCo. Richard Herring, APSCo’s Chairman, presented Ann with an award and gift on behalf of all at APSCo – Richard’s speech was followed by a standing ovation from the members.
