Nash Squared’s people strategy

At Nash Squared, people strategy and a positive company culture take centre stage. Bev’s approach involves a deep focus on employee engagement and well-being. One of her first actions as CEO was to appoint a Chief People Officer, emphasising the priority placed on people management.

She says, “In my first week, I spoke to anybody in the business that had any people responsibility in their title.” This initiative underscores the belief that understanding and investing in people is key to business success.

How to create a sustainable culture

Nash Squared’s strategy for creating a sustainable culture is multifaceted. It includes comprehensive employee engagement surveys, transparent communication channels and initiatives like the ‘Moments that Matter’ program, which focuses on key moments in an employee's journey with the company.

These efforts are aimed at building a culture in which employees feel valued, heard and motivated.

Drawing on industry best practices, a sustainable culture in recruitment also involves offering continuous learning opportunities, recognising and rewarding performance and fostering a sense of community and belonging among team members.

The importance of employee engagement and feedback

Nash Squared places a strong emphasis on employee feedback, as seen in their “Ask Bev” initiative, where employees can anonymously ask questions and express concerns.

This approach reflects a broader trend in successful businesses to prioritise open communication and feedback.

Effective employee engagement strategies in the recruitment sector often include regular check-ins, career development plans and opportunities for staff to contribute ideas and feedback, which can lead to increased job satisfaction and retention.

A final thought

The people strategy at Nash Squared, as Bev outlines in her interview, demonstrates the critical importance of focusing on employee engagement and creating a supportive culture in the workplace.

This strategy both enhances employee satisfaction and retention, and also drives overall business performance.
